(Los Angeles) US singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl who went missing last year. The arrest comes as part of an ongoing grand jury investigation into the disappearance of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were found in a Tesla associated with D4vd in September.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed on Thursday that the 21-year-old artist is currently being held without bail, with the case set to be presented to the District Attorney's office next week.

In a statement, Burke's legal representatives asserted, Let us be clear - actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death. They maintained that no indictment has been made by any grand jury so far, and he has only been detained under suspicion.

The investigation has gained widespread media attention, especially following the macabre discovery of Rivas' remains in a Hollywood tow yard. Investigators revealed that her decomposed head and torso were found in a bag in a Tesla owned by D4vd.

The county's medical examiner stated that the body was severely decomposed, suggesting it had been there for weeks.

No cause of death has been officially declared, and police have been treating the case as a death investigation since the discovery of the body.

Rivas Hernandez last contacted her family in April 2024. Her body was discovered about 75 miles from her home, adding to the mystery surrounding her connection to the singer.

D4vd, who became popular for his songs like Here With Me and Romantic Homicide, initially gained fame through social media before releasing his debut EP, Petals To Thorns. His music career has taken a dramatic turn following these allegations, leading to the cancellation of his world tour and loss of various brand partnerships as the investigation continues.
