Yung Filly Declares ‘Good Vibes’ in Court Amid Rape Allegations

The UK rapper, known as Yung Filly, told a court that the “vibes were good” between him and the 20‑year‑old woman he is accused of raping. Filly took the witness stand on Monday at the District Court of Western Australia, a week after the trial started.

Zeroing on the alleged incident, Filly (real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos) pleaded not guilty to six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one strangulation charge. He said he had “fancied” the woman when they met in his VIP area during a performance in Hillarys, a Perth suburb.

The rapper denied any inappropriate touching – noting he only placed his hand on her waist. He maintained that he never touched her outside clothing or touched her breast. He also claimed that the “vibes” remained positive once they were in his hotel room.

Filly recalled that his security guard took the woman’s phone as a “standard practice” to protect privacy. The court heard that the pair had consensual sex before the alleged violence, at which point the woman reportedly told him to stop.

The case follows the rapper’s national tour. A prolific social media presence – 1.8 million YouTube subscribers, 3 million TikTok followers and 2.4 million Instagram fans – has seen him appear on the celebrity version of Bake Off on Channel 4 and as a host on BBC Three.

Filly has been on bail since charges were filed and was permitted to return to the UK on a four‑month visit in September before returning to Western Australia for the trial.
